In light of the great news about the new Potter film series, I thought I should probably update my journal to something more Potter-esque.
I am so excited!
I know that a lot of people are very sceptical about the whole thing, but this is the queen herself writing the screenplay! I firmly believe it will be awesome because:
    1.     It won't be an adaptation of a book, so nothing will be lost in the translation.
    2.     It won't be written by somebody else - it'll be pure, undiluted Rowling.
    3.     It won't be about Harry at all, so no need to fear some sort of prequel. Voldemort will be a small boy, or not even born yet, at the time the story is set.
    4.     We'll get loads of really cool magical beasts.
    5.     Newt is a seriously cool dude.
    6.     Get excited!

In other news, I'm preparing for an exhibition, which is going to be a lot of fun, I think. The theme is "Clash between reality and the unreal", which means I get to paint a lot of really cool things. Like fish with butterfly wings, strange trees etc.

I know I haven't been active on DA for a while, but I hope to change that soon.
That's all for now, but please feel free to message me to flail about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

... Seriously, get excited!

Pointless trivia about me..

The guy who lives across from me, and whom I've secretly nicknamed Umbilical Cord Guy because he seems to be dependent on his mama still, came knocking on my door in the middle of the night. I was up anyway, studying for my exam, so I answered the door and asked if I could help him. He asked me if I had a credit card. I said yes. Then he asked if he could borrow my credit card and said he'd pay me back in the morning.
He's the guy who' so far failed to return a towel (that he can keep, because eww) and a lamp he's borrowed from me almost a year ago. He also comes over when he's forgotten to buy toilet paper and once he presented me with a drawing of Spongebob - in the middle of the night.
Yeah, sorry pal, but no. I clearly can't trust you with a lamp, so I'm not about to hand over my credit card.

Ooh, and I got tagged by :iconnickyca: so in order to avoid his wrath and heavenly vengeance, I shall answer his questions. I won't tag more people, though, because that's not how I roll. I'm a rebel, I know. Fear me. No, really.

1. What's your favourite Pokemon? I...am a little too old for Pokémon, actually. The only one I really know the name of is Pikachu. Which is actually the punchline of a really terrible Danish joke. Because pik is Danish for dick. You can guess the rest, I think.

2. What's your favourite TV Drama? SHERLOCK! But I also like House.

3. Who's your favourite writer? I can't choose! There are so many good ones! Tolkien and Rowling and Susanna Clarke and Philip Pullman and Javier Cercas and Hans Christian Andersen and Stephen Fry and Federico García Lorca and Daphne du Maurier, etc etc.

4. Say something about yourself that you (or others) deem "cute". I've been told repeatedly that I'm a puppy. Which I suppose is true in that I am almost always cheerful. I get excited very easily and then I'm just bouncing off the walls and ceiling. I eat blue m&ms because they colour my tongue. Then I wiggle it at people.

5. What's your animal? Well, my parents have a dog, if you mean a pet. Spirit animal? Erm. I dunno. I'm born in the year of the tiger, according to the Chinese zodiac, and if you've ever seen the way a tiger can laze about, I suppose that's pretty accurate. I dunno about the ferocity, though. Or the whole meat-eating thing. I'm probably more like some kind of vegetarian bird. Probably a hyacinth macaw or a Blue Jay, I think.

6. What's your favourite food? Risotto with chanterelles. But also chocolate. Chocolate is good. Yeah.

7. What song do you do your funniest dance to? Eye of the tiger.

8. What do you really hate? Indifference. Being enthusiastic about something only to have people backing out of it. If they don't want to do it or are too lazy, they should say so instead of pretending and then backing out.

9. If you were a household object, what would you be? That special favourite cup you only use for tea and hot chocolate.

10. What's your favourite mode of transport? Broomstick. But I go by bike a lot. Often it's faster than going by bus, and it's certainly more convenient.

11. List 10 or more things you like about yourself.
:bulletyellow: I have a good ear for music and can usually pick apart a song or play it if I've just heard it before. I'm good at learning new songs quickly and I love singing and music generally.
:bulletyellow: I'm creative. I paint, I draw, I write, I write and arrange music, I sing and I've even made a sculpture or two. I love to create and I love to be creative with people.
:bulletyellow: I'm enthusiastic. I do the things I do because I like them and they make me happy.
:bulletyellow: I can sew. It's very practical.
:bulletyellow: I love to read. I think it's important to read.
:bulletyellow: I'm determined. I have to be or I'd never get things done. Like I run every other day without fail. Which means I've run whilst on holiday, I've run despite bleeding blisters on my feet and every winter I run during a blizzard.
:bulletyellow: I'm very lucky to have a happy disposition. I know people who struggle with mood swings and depressions, and I'm very happy not to have to go through that myself.
:bulletyellow: I have a dirty sense of humour. I regret nothing!
:bulletyellow: I'm an anglophile.
:bulletyellow: I can always sleep. It's very convenient.

Well, it's been a while and I think I'm going to stop doing the featured art thing, simply because I'm not as active here on DA anymore. I'm just pressed for time.
I swear, I don't mean to neglect DA. It's just that I have two choirs, one of which I direct and arrange and write songs for, school, work, volunteer work, tutoring Spanish, drabbles, doodles, prompts and commissions. And, you know, life besides that. So I don't really browse DA as much as I used to. I simply don't have time.

I' going to London again soon, by the way, and I'm very excited about it.
For now, though, I'll leave you and go to sleep.

Pointless trivia about me..

:bulletblue: I'm back from my trip to London, which was lovely, by the way. I went with my best friend and we had a great time. This time, we didn't really go sightseeing. We did go shopping in Camden and Notting Hill, visited British Museum, Kew Gardens and saw Wicked. It was awesome! And I got me some pink Starkid sunglasses! Yay!

:bulletblue: Anyway. I got tagged by Maddy (:icondee387:), so I guess I'd better do this.

Rules:
1. Answer the 10 questions, made by your tagger
2. Then type up 10 new questions, and tag 5 (or more if you like) people to answer them. (Tag other people? I shall do no such thing. I'm such a rebel. You're shocked, I know.)
3. They can be random questions, but may not be rude or sexual in nature.

1. What song makes you smile?
:bulletyellow: No fair. So many songs do that. Isn't that exactly the point of music? But I suppose I get a sort of serene smile every time I listen to Strawberry Swing by Coldplay. Or Sarah by Ray LaMontagne. Or Wonderful World by Sam Cooke. Or How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) by Sam & Dave. The list goes on.

2. Why did the chicken cross the road?
:bulletyellow: Because there were monkeys on hovercrafts. Don't tell me you wouldn't cross the road for that! You would. Don't deny it!

3. What movie last made you cry?
:bulletyellow: HP7p2. I speak in codes. And movies don't usually make me cry. Books do, though.

4. Are you a Pastafarian?
:bulletyellow: Well DUH! All praise the Spaghedeity, his Noodliness the Flying Spaghetti Monster. We are all touched by His Noodly Appendages.

5. Favourite childhood show?
:bulletyellow: Errr... I dunno. I didn't really watch that much TV when I was little (still don't). I'm not sure I have one.

6. Was the last Harry Potter a letdown?
:bulletyellow: No. The epilogue felt weird because I kept thinking "They're younger than me and yet they have pretend children", but on the whole, I feel I must bow down before the epicness that was the last film. Well, the last two, really.

7. Who makes you smile when you feel crap?
:bulletyellow: A lot of people. My friends. My family. My dog (oh, Bingo, how I love you). People on tumblr. I don't often feel that bad, though. I suppose I'm a bit of an annoying, bouncy optimist?

8. Snow or the Beach?
:bulletyellow: The beach, but in the evening, with a dog that's frolicking in the water because I just threw a stick for him to fetch. Yeah. That's awesome.

9. Who do you ship?
:bulletyellow: The canon pairings, really. I am passionate about Klaine, Rane and JOGAN (although Jogan is one-sided for the moment, so not quite canon). If you do not know what/who Rane and Jogan are, click the link to the left, that says "Dalton - A Glee fanfic". You can thank me later.

10. What the HELL is a Hufflepuff??
:bulletyellow: A special kind of nunchuck made from leeks. Deadly and delectable.

Prepare to be noodled..

:bulletblue: Okay, so I didn't update for months and I'm sorry about that. Life and then exams got in the way. I won't be using this journal as much, I suspect. I don't really want to spam my watchers with annoying journal updates about my life (probably boring), so I think I'll maybe stick with featuring cool artwork and dropping a line or two.

:bulletblue: My real rambling and strange blogging about my life will happen on my tumblr instead, so if anybody feels the need to read about things like my religious devotion to pasta (the spaghedeity also known as The Flying Spaghetti Monster), you can just go there. Link is to the left.

:bulletblue: I am looking for drawing prompts, though, so if anybody has any suggestions as to what you'd like me to draw, let me know. I won't promise I'll do it (time has not been my friend lately), but I'll try, and it's wonderfully inspiring to hear other people's suggestions.
That is all for now.
